BMW V8 engines
BMW is known as a manufacturer of V8
engines since 1954. The first V8 engined BMW was the 502 with 2.6 l
displacement. Later on versions with 3.2l. Also Models 501, 503 and 507
received a V8 engine.

In 1992 a new generation of BMW V8 engines
had its debut in the E32 7-series and in the E34 5-series. In 1993 the E31
8-series also got this engine. This engine (BMW engine code M60) has 4
valves per cylinder and dual camshafts.
