Alpina B8
The Alpina B8 4.0 was available from Alpina from March 1994. A total of 4 cars were built and all went to Japanese customers. All of these cars were 4-door sedans.
Because BMW was about to launch the M3 3.2 with 321 hp, Alpina needed a stronger motor and decided to use the bigger 4.6 l engine from the B10 4.6.
In order to fit the V8 inside the E36 engine compartment, the motor had to be installed from top. A special made flat oil pan and oil pump was installed.
